Pretty wings…pretty soul

Here we are, yet another Tuesday and already almost to February. It never stops amazing me how fast time goes by. I have so much to get done every day that the days just float by without fully realizing that they are gone.
This Tuesday, we have a wonderful new challenge at Tiddly Inks. It is all about Wings. Christy has so many wonderful images of fairies and little bugs with wings that this is one of the easiest challenges this year.

This beautiful card was made using Druscilla. She is an older Tiddly image, however she is absolutely stunning. I was quite intimidated by the image actually. I knew I wanted to color her up, however she is so elegant that I was afraid I would screw it up. Three tries later and this is the result. She is colored with my copics with touches of my Sakura Stardust clear on the wings, as well as the dress is completely covered with Spica clear. I love the subtleness of the Spica glitter – so soft and perfect for this dress.
The papers are from Prima. The main backing paper is from the Nature Garden 6x6” pad, while the accent paper is from the Fairy Bell pad. I’m starting to get low on the Fairy Bell, might need to take a look at similar papers and acquire one soon. Open-mouthed smile I used my Fiskars notebook border bunch on white cardstock and distressed every bit of all the papers using my Walnut Stain. The die behind Druscilla is a Spellbinders Reverse Wonky die that I embossed, stamped with flowery images in Memento Toffee Crunch then distressed with the Walnut Stain. I love how the die pops Druscilla out. The sentiment is backed by Whimsy Stamps Noteables 6 stamp (and die). I then placed stickers to create my saying – of course after distressing them a bit. I added a whole lot of little butterflies and flowers to finish the card off.
So there you have it, a very elegant card using one of the most elegant images Tiddly Inks has to offer. I hope everyone is having a wonderful January and has some time to hop over to the challenge blog and see all the lovely creations the DT have made. And…if you have the time, join us!
